Marriott International in Indonesia and EVCuzz Charging Network Indonesia Signs MoU to Create Blue Skies for the Future.

In line with one of Indonesia’s priorities in its G20 Presidency on renewable energy and Indonesia’s aim to produce 2 million units of electric cars by 2030, EVCuzz Charging Network Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marriott International today.

As the preferred charging network in Indonesia, EVCuzz Charging Network Indonesia will be deploying and installing 120 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) at 60 Marriott Bonvoy venues, Marriott International’s portfolio of 19 extraordinary hotel brands and highly awarded travel program across Indonesia. Through this signing, both Marriott International and EVCuzz further supports the government’s initiative to accelerate the use of clean energy and smart technology.

“According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the hospitality sector currently accounts for 1% of global carbon emissions and this is set to increase. It’s crucial that the hospitality industry implements sustainability practices to mitigate potential environmental impact of their business operations,” said Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President – Indonesia, Marriott International.

At Marriott International, we ensure that we make a sustainable and positive impact wherever we do business. Globally, Marriott International is committed to reach net-zero value chain greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by no later than 2050. We look to achieve this goal through this collaboration with EVCuzz Charging Network Indonesia, said Ramesh further.

Marriott International currently operates 60 hotels and resorts in Indonesia across 19 of its 30 global brands.

EVCuzz Charging Network’s CEO Abdul Rahman Elly stated, "The collaboration between both parties is a testament of the private sectors' commitment to the Indonesian government's policy in optimizing renewable energy sources for creating blue skies and clean air". Elly also elaborated the two types of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) that will soon be available at Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels and resorts in Indonesia are AC 7 kW and AC 22 kW.

EVCuzz Charging Network currently operates 20 charging stations equipped by 40 chargers across Java and Bali. EVCuzz networks can be found at Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club, Shila at Sawangan, Sequis Tower, Artotel Suites Mangkuluhur Jakarta, Wisma BCA Foresta BSD, Office of the Directorate General of Energy and Mineral Resources, Atria Hotel Gading Serpong, Bez Plaza Gading Serpong, Fame Hotel Gading Serpong, Bintaro Xchange and the rest of strategic inner-city locations.
