Premium Scotch Whisky brand, Monkey Shoulder, launches its new campaign entitled 'Monkey Shoulder After-Work Drinks But #MakeItMonkey' to reach a larger scope of the Indonesian market by hosting a high-energy virtual event featuring talented Indonesian rapper, Yacko.
A product of Scottish distiller and distributors, William Grant & Sons, Monkey Shoulder is an exquisitely blended malt whisky that is made with single malts sourced from three prominent Speyside distilleries. A smooth, creamy, supple and very malty Scotch, Monkey Shoulder is versatile and works extremely well neat, over ice, or as a cocktail base.
Held on Thursday 1 April 2021, from 2.30pm – 3.30 pm, the virtual event featured an appearance by Monkey Shoulder’s Brand Ambassador, Samuel Ng, all the way from Singapore, as well as a performance by guest star, Yacko. Samuel Ng shared a few words during the event about how a campaign like this is much-needed for the Indonesian market. This was followed by a performance by Yacko, who invited viewers tuning in to the virtual event to have fun and dance as she delivered some of her best hits.
"The pandemic may have changed our lifestyle, but we know that consumers still hope for life to return to normal," said Samuel Ng. “As a whiskey made to be blended, we wanted to encourage people to have fun and combine things using Monkey Shoulder as a base for their home concoctions. Get wild, be creative, and don't forget to play party games and also play fun playlists for a better work experience!" he added.
Yacko, whose real name is Yani Oktavia, said that she enjoyed appearing in events like this and was honoured to be a part of the Monkey Shoulder After-Work Drinks campaign, especially since she represented the rap genre in Indonesia. Monkey Shoulder also selected Yacko as the performer of this event because of her unique background. In addition to being a seasoned rapper, Yacko is also a mother and a lecturer.
"As a brand that upholds an exciting and free spirit, like myself, makes me very interested in partnering with Monkey Shoulder for the After-Work Drinks campaign," Yacko said. “I can't wait to get closer to my virtual fans for an experience with Samuel Ng, and #makeitmonkey. Together while enjoying cocktails and music. Here comes the happy hour with Monkey Shoulder,” she continued.
This event is the first of two virtual events with the second aiming to be held around the end of May or June 2021. Yacko is set to appear as a guest star once again during the second event.
